Kai-Hsin Chang Secures Canada’s First Medal at Hong Kong 2024 World Taekwondo Poomsae

Richmond Hill, December 1, 2024 – Team Canada is celebrating a monumental achievement as Kai-Hsin Chang, an exceptional U17 Freestyle athlete from Ontario, secured Canada’s first medal at the Hong Kong 2024 World Taekwondo Poomsae Championships. This remarkable performance marks a significant milestone for both Canada and our very own province of Ontario on the international stage.

Kai-Hsin Chang’s dedication and skill were on full display as he delivered a stunning performance that captivated both judges and spectators. His achievement not only brings pride to his home province of Ontario but also elevates Canada’s presence in the global Taekwondo community.

Team Canada Head Coach, Master Ri Seong Kang, also hailing from Ontario, expressed immense pride in Kai-Hsin’s accomplishment. “Kai-Hsin’s dedication and hard work have truly paid off. This medal is a testament to his perseverance and the strength of our training program,” said Coach Kang.

Taekwondo Ontario extends their heartfelt congratulations to Kai-Hsin and Coach Kang. “We are incredibly proud of Kai-Hsin’s achievement at the World Taekwondo Poomsae Championships and look forward to building on this momentum to develop future Poomsae talent in our province,” said a representative from Taekwondo Ontario.
