To all participating in the upcoming 2022 Taekwondo Canada National Championships:
The Ontario government lifted the mask mandate as of Monday, March 21, 2022. As a result, we will not
be requiring athletes, coaches, referees and spectators to wear a mask while at the National
Championships in Toronto from April 15-17. All individuals attending the event will have the choice to
wear a mask or not. However, we strongly encourage the wearing of masks and we ask that you be
mindful of those around you. Please be kind and respectful of others’ choices and the fact that
everyone has different needs and comfort levels.

As per Taekwondo Canada’s published policy, the Organization still requires that all participants aged 12
and older must be fully vaccinated at least 14-days prior to attending the National Championships.
Please ensure you that you bring your proof of vaccination with you to the event, as this will be
checked at ID pick up and at the entrance for spectators. While the Ontario government no longer
requires businesses and organizations to check for proof of vaccination, they do allow each business and
organizations to make this choice themselves. As stated on the provincial government’s website,
“Getting vaccinated is the best way to protect yourself and your loved ones from severe outcomes from
COVID-19.”.

Throughout the pandemic, Taekwondo Canada has followed public health guidelines and we continue to
do so in supporting you in assessing risk and making the best decision for yourself and your family. There
is a great deal of optimism that we are nearing a time where COVID will be in the rear-view mirror. Let’s
keep our guard up for a bit longer and reassure ourselves that we are in this together.
Enjoy the 2022 National Championships and stay safe!
