Richmond Hill, ON – April 13, 2025 — Taekwondo Ontario is proud to unveil the 2025-2026 Team Ontario Selection Criteria, designed to establish a clear, transparent, and equitable framework for athlete selection. This new criteria embodies our values of excellence, integrity, and equal opportunity, ensuring accountability throughout the selection process.

Purpose of the Criteria
The 2025-2026 Team Ontario Selection Criteria outlines the principles and requirements for athletes seeking inclusion in Team Ontario. It highlights the necessary steps for eligibility, including participation in key events, to foster the growth and success of our athletes. Inclusion in Team Ontario is also a necessary prerequisite for future funding opportunities.

Key Details
The selection process will run from April 1, 2025, to March 31, 2026. Athletes must meet specific criteria and participate in outlined events during this period.

Future Funding Considerations
Athletes who are selected to Team Ontario will be eligible for future funding opportunities, including International Training Camps and Open Championships. A funding matrix will also be developed, factoring in key competition results.
