09 May Membership Suspension – Carlos Baptista

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Richmond Hill, Ontario – May 8, 2025 – Taekwondo Ontario has become aware of charges laid against Carlos Baptista. Due to the severity of these charges, the Board of Directors has decided to provisionally suspend Carlos Baptista, effective immediately. This suspension will remain in place until the criminal process is completed and any resulting disciplinary actions are determined in accordance with Taekwondo Ontario’s policies.

This decision is made under section 47 (Suspension Pending Hearing) of the Discipline & Complaints Policy. It is a precautionary measure and does not imply any presumption of guilt.

During the suspension, Carlos Baptista is prohibited from attending, participating, or engaging in any Taekwondo Ontario-sanctioned activities, including training, workshops, and competitions.
Taekwondo Ontario is committed to upholding the highest standards of conduct and integrity within the sport.

We will continue to monitor the situation closely and take all necessary actions in line with our policies and procedures.
