31 Dec A New Year of Growth and Opportunity for Taekwondo Ontario
Dear Taekwondo Ontario Members,
As we step into 2026, I’m filled with gratitude and excitement for what lies ahead. It’s hard to believe how quickly time has passed since I began serving as President just over a year ago. Together, we’ve laid a strong foundation for progress—and this is only the beginning.
Your commitment and passion have been the driving force behind our success. Thanks to you, we’ve achieved milestones that strengthen our martial art and sport and elevate our community:
- Championing Safe Sport: Partnering with ITP Sport to ensure integrity and athlete protection.
- Building Stronger Policies: Aligning with UCCMS standards to create a culture of respect and fairness.
- Empowering Athletes: Introducing transparent Team Ontario Selection Criteria to open doors for funding and development.
- Growing Together: Hosting record-breaking training camps that unite coaches, athletes, and referees in pursuit of excellence.
Ontario continues to set the benchmark for Taekwondo in Canada. Our province is home to some of the nation’s top athletes and coaches—individuals who not only dominate at the national level but also achieve success on the international stage. This legacy of excellence inspires everything we do, and the experience and knowledge of these leaders will continue to shape and develop the next generation of athletes, coaches, and referees.
As we look to 2026, the journey continues as we:
- Create Pathways for Greatness: Develop clear frameworks for athletes in the Train to Train and Train to Compete stages, while expanding opportunities to support Ontario high-performance athletes on their road to the 2028 Olympic Games in LA.
- Elevate Our Presence: Launch a dynamic new website that reflects the strength, spirit, and professionalism of Taekwondo Ontario.
- Listen and Lead: Host interactive town halls to gather feedback, share ideas, and shape the future of our sport together.
- Innovate for Impact: Strengthen organizational processes and leverage technology to deliver efficient, transparent, and member-focused services.
There is much work ahead, but together, we are shaping the future of Taekwondo in Ontario. Thank you for being part of this incredible journey. Let’s make 2026 a year of bold steps and shared victories!
Wishing you and your families a year filled with health, success, and inspiration!
Respectfully,
Master David Silverman
