Ontario’s Nikola Samardzic Captures Silver Medal at World Taekwondo Cadet Championships

Toronto, ON – May 13, 2025 – Taekwondo Ontario proudly celebrates a historic milestone as 14-year-old Nikola Samardzic captured Canada’s first-ever silver medal at the World Taekwondo Cadet Championships, held in Fujairah, United Arab Emirates.

Representing Ontario and coached by his father, Radomir Samardzic, Nikola delivered an extraordinary performance on the world stage. Competing in the fiercely contested cadet division, he won four consecutive matches against top international opponents, showcasing exceptional skill, determination, and composure.

In a thrilling final bout, Nikola faced off against a formidable competitor from Kazakhstan. Despite a valiant effort, he narrowly missed the gold, falling 2-1 in a closely contested match.
