The Taekwondo Ontario Referee Committee is pleased to announce a Provincial Poomsae Referee Seminar to be held on Sunday October 28, 2018. This seminar will be run at the Toronto Pan Am Sports Centre (TPASC).

*This seminars meet the process to certification, upgrades, and/or NCCP requirement

Course Conductor: Master Timothy Johl

Eligibility: Minimum 13 years old, 2nd Keup and current Taekwondo Ontario member in good standing

Registration fee: $100 (plus HST).
Attire: Dobok
Bring: Pen/pencil, notebook, lunch, copy of competition rules
Room: North Room (Judo Ontario training space), adjacent to CSIO *closest access from North side parking lot, please remove shoes upon entry

Seminar topics will include the following:

• Referee fundamentals and duties
• Theory for recognized and freestyle poomsae (rules and interpretation)
• Scoring principles (accuracy/presentation)
• Practical evaluation (demonstrate knowledge of poomsae)
• Scoring evaluation (paper scoring)

*All participants are expected to review and have a printed or electronic copy of the latest WT Poomsae Competition Rules and Interpretation (March 2014) for the seminar. This can be downloaded on the WT website:

Candidates are required to have knowledge of the following poomsae: T4 to Shipjin (P3), T4 to Chonkwon (P2), T4 to Hansu (P1)

New and upgrading referees will be required to successfully complete a written exam and practical evaluation in order to earn a certificate.
